Day two of E3 began for me when I realized about halfway to the convention center that I forgot my camera back at the hotel. Unfortunately this means I won't be taking any photos or videos of the action today. If my wife is reading this, however, this is the reason why I want a compact pocket camera that I can carry more easily!

After a late start, we got the ball rolling today by packing down some lunch. Immediately afterward, we traveled to the conference rooms upstairs for Icrontic's appointment with Valve. It immediately erased the remains of our dreary and rainy morning and turned our day into awesome.

primesuspect, jokerz4fun, and UPSLynx took seats and played a demo of Left4Dead 2 while CB and I looked on. While the game appears to play very similarly to the original, Valve justifies calling it a sequel by the sheer volume of new content it will provide. As a gaming community, we've grown accustomed to sequels that provide something other, changing our paradigm from the original. Valve hasn't done this with L4D2, rather, they've gone with a very '90s style of sequel in the sense that they've reused the original engine, added new levels and weapons and enemies, and called it a sequel... much like the Doom to Doom2 transition, though Valve's changes run deeper, affecting the AI and the engine to an extent.

After the game demo, Icrontic got the chance to interview Doug Lombardi, Marketing VP at Valve. Our interview was nothing short of spectacular. Doug handled our questions brilliantly and really gave us a taste of Valve's corporate culture along the way. I think it's that corporate culture that allows Valve to deliver games and content that pleases the community time and time again.

Later today, we'll have the chance to visit Bethesda and then wrap up the evening with Microsoft's cocktail party. More to come!
