I stumbled over an option to disable the "Links" folder from showing up in my favorites before I formatted, and now I can't find it again. Anybody know where it is?

I just make the folder Hidden, and hide hidden files/folders within folder options.

It's in Tweak UI, under Expolorer, "Show Links on Favorites Menu"

There is another way to make things link appear and disappear-- you can have a Link button on toolbar, also, by customizing it. Contents of links can be changed also, so you can use that folder for anything you want.

right-click toolbar, and choose customize (mouse pointer needs to be on an empty place on toolbar). Then you can choose what needs to be shown-- look for a links button.

Also, if you get into the favorites manager, you can tell it to delete the links section, or take out the entries you do not want inside that section, or move the ones you DO want to any other folder or place you want. Use the right-click context menus.... And CTRL-C (copy), CTRL-X (cut), and CTRL-V (paste). Play with it....

I have about 20 folders in favorites, and about 25 in Opera, and both my sidebar in IE and sidebar in Opera show my fast links options/favorties/bookmarks. I never have to drop the bookmarks or favorites lists if I do not want to.
