You probably need to remove it as a device administrator first. Settings -> Security -> Device administrators.

You need to be careful if you're going to root your phone. Know what you're doing if something goes wrong.

I didn't know that it would install a second program on the memory. I did try removing the admin privileges.

    Hello,

I am with ITAgents, we develop Theft Aware.

To remove Theft Aware from your phone you deactivate it and uninstall Theft Aware with the disguise-name you chose during the installation.
If the uninstall doesn’t work you probably set Theft Aware as device admin in your phonesettings. Undo that before installation.

If you need further help please mail us at support (at) itagents.at
    or visit forum.theftaware.com

I hope my instructions work for you,

    Werner
If that doesn't work and you don't want to wait on contacting them, wipe it and install something else.

He said he did wipe it, which means it's in /system/app somewhere and can survive a wipe.

Probably can't survive a new ROM, though.

Yeah, that is what I meant by wipe it. Fresh ROM (whether stock or CM or whatever suits your fancy) would not leave a trace of that.

Well I fixed it. I used titanium backup.
