so:

not knowing what to do today i hit the lab to do a bit of admin work ..

meet a new "professor" ... we hit it off pretty much immediately and went on to spend an hour or so drinking coffee/smoking ciggies and talking ... he really seems to know what he's talking about ...

and heres the best bit...

he's teaching a class here called "Geek Fetish" .. the primary focus this semester being 'case modding as an art-form'

    I had a professor that has some government funding to work on EMP “devises” and how normal consumer product are vulnerable to EMP disruptions. This guy had a Pole Transformer in his garage to change his power back to 400 Volts (or something). He had over 20 high capacity capacitors (several joules of stored power). He would do some real cool experiments. He once “blew up” a car with his EMP pulse thing… Nothing on the car looked damaged.. no signs of problems until you tried to start it, turn on the radio, any thing electronic… GONE…. Really cool professor. Also built robots.
