EasyCap DC60 with Skype?

Instead of buying a low quality webcam I recently bought an eaycap dc60 (for use via component input with my digital camcorder) and it does seem to work but some applications won't work with it. I primarily want to use it with skype but that is one of the applications that does not work, it tries to use the device but can't load an image. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
candreasen

Skype wants a 720p HD webcam, I see nothing they recommend on their site that is 1080p. Can you put your webcam into 720p mode???

Since the input is component I don't get 1080p video out I get standard def not 1080p. Any idea why it would recognize it as a device it can use if it can't/won't actually use it?
    Thanks,

Probably because Skype is not written to use such a setup. They are expecting a certain device at the other end and you are trying to circumvent that. I didn't see anything in a few minutes worth of googling that indicated it was possible to use the devices in this manner, unfortunately.
