I started with a Spectrum 48k back in 1980 and I like sh*tty old tech what can I say.
Can't be bothered to keep uprgrading, whats the bloody hurry!
I get by with what I got.
Just lost a PCI slot after adding a third hard drive. Have a 650w psu.
I have checked on a number of psu calcs out there and for what I have running, at peak, ranges from 497 - 650w required. (650 being on ASUS' own calc.)
I'm guessing I need at least a 750w. Recently lost a USB slot for no reason so I'm guessing its either the mobo or psu on its way out.
Main question is need an equivelant to the current P5B Deluxe mobo LGA775 DDR2 compatible. My soundcard is sitting far too close for comfort against my graphics card. Any responses will be most gratefully appreciated.

Something with the X48 or P45 chipset from Gigabyte, if you can still find one for sale. The UD3, UD5 and UD7 boards are nice.

Cheers bud. X48 is looking good. Would you rate Gigabyte over ASRock?
Thanks for taking the time to answer!

ASRock is a budget motherboard manufacturer, and you absolutely get what you pay for if you buy a budget motherboard. Cheapest of the cheap. Don't do it.

Cheers guys! Slighty out of touch, built the last computer over 5 years ago. Still going strong until now.
