Tribes: Ascend - The Wishlist
Wanted to put down a few of the things I'd like to see added or changed in writing, and figured I'd make a spot where others could do the same so we could compare notes. I'd prefer to avoid balance issues here; I don't want this to turn into a WoW Forum thread.
1) Red/green colorblind-friendly Friend tags
2) Secondary key-mapping
3) Friend list interface needs some serious overhauling
4)Moar fiar wile zumed, moar zum on sniparz

2) "Ultra" graphics quality settings. The Tribes INI has more to give.
3) More maps.
Granted, this is a F2P game, so even if they fixed 0% of the things in this thread, I would be totally happy with Tribes: Ascend.
1. Steam availability (sounds like this would play into the matchmaking swimmingly)
5) Safer spawn locations. (Spawning disoriented with someone shooting you in the face is a little annoying after the first dozen or so times.)
6) Match start delay. The game is always already underfoot when I spawn in, and I'm not hesitating at all in joining.
7) Higher color contrast in general. It gets tough to tell what's what and where it actually is, and the trying to read the terrain is just an exercise in migraine development. This is, however, possibly due to my running on low graphics. (Don't think it's necessary, but I've been tinkering due to some weird system performance.)
8) Team balancing. Ended up in a 5v3 arena just a moment ago...
9) A dedicated class-change button. Srsly.
The idea of mic-spamming these makes me giddy with childish delight.
Bolt Launcher for Pathfinder2) Thumper for Technician
3) Sticky Grenades for Infiltrator
... oh, not that kind of wish list...
For real though. Infiltrator is way to OP now. Fix it!
• In-game matchmaking for balanced teams right from the start (could be an optional game mode)
• More game modes. I'd love a base defense mode. Win by destroying enemy reactor, defend your own. Like League of Legends.
• When selecting/changing my class, I wish each had a keyboard shortcut for faster selection. So for example if I want to switch to Technician quickly to fix shit, I'd want to type [i] to switch classes and [t] for Technician. Then fix. Then [t], [j] to go back to Juggernaut.
• IN-GAME CLANS. I'd love to see an Icrontic clan and see all our juicy frag stats.
Also, I tried out Arena for a bit before I passed out last night. It's great. Small maps, no flags, slower velocities but a faster pace. There were also only about 2-5 people on a team at any given time (probably due to it being 2:30cst) which made it feel like a good small UT match. Still having trouble getting used to it being small-walkways-and-platforms-over-a-big-pit-of-death, but it just means you've gotta be careful about your movement.
This game really is the next iteration of challenging arena-style FPS. I just kinda wish it had come out ten years ago when I was good at them and not now when the most challenging FPS I play is TF2 >_>
