Way to nab that Sony account. Orbis looks coooo.

Edit: You know, if it's true and all.

  • So Sony's rumored strategy is an architecture that's more like the Xbox....

I don't buy it personally. I think localized hardware is on the way out, streaming from the cloud, that's what the PS4 will do, it's the evolution of the business, it's the only change that makes sense.

The PS4 won't stream video data from the cloud. There may be functionality in game save files and settings, but we're not going to see mass video streaming. ISP bandwidth isn't up to that, and gamers don't want it.

This next generation is more concerned with blocking people from buying/playing used games, anyways. It's going to be a nightmare.

The US is moving further and further away from the cloud every single day as ISPs implement bandwidth caps across the board.

Not to mention the fact that many ISPs can't even provide reliable service at peak times. Lag and dropped packets abound.

@Cliff_Forster is too ahead of the times. We aren't at nearly high enough of a universal adoption of high speed/high bandwidth to consume content like OnLive as a console. That is the future, but we have to get flying cars first.
