Intel to again delay Dothan

edited February 2004 in Science & Tech
Notebook manufacturers have been upset by the news that the launch of Intel’s mobile Dothan processors may now have been put back to April or May.

[blockquote]Originally scheduled to launch in October 2003 with a 1.8GHz version and to add 1.9 and 2.0GHz versions in the first and second quarters of 2004 respectively, news that the Dothan processor with a 2MB L2 cache would be delayed to February was reported in November last year.

Screw Prescott, my HTPC was going to have a Dothan. Dothan needs to be _out_ so there can be availability so the lower-end models will depreciate rapidly to the point where I can afford one. What chipset is this on anyway?

Those crazy Taiwanese notebook manufacturers are putting a what in their notebook? A desktop Prescott?!? They'd better advertise it as a desknote, since travel users won't be amused by it's all of five minutes of battery life and the fact that having a >100W heat source between their legs sets their pants on fire/melts their pantyhose.

"Some makers have been forced to replenish their stocks of 1.4GHz Pentium 4 processors while waiting for Dothan."

These guys dont know what they are talking about. 1.4 P4s? There are 1.4 P Ms but not P4s. That got it mixed up.
