*Added editable books - I am SO excited for this. I can't wait to play with it and see how it is implemented. Hopefully this will allow players to write someone a message without the limitations and publicity of a sign.

*Wooden half slabs in four colors (and they act as wood instead of stone) - When this was posted it was like 1000 men cried out in unison "FINALLY"

*Bug fixing and tweaks, notably about entity collisions, “picking blocks” (creative mode), and chat

*Some other, censored stuff

    So now Ilriyas can actually have a Rarity Clopfic collection that he doesn't know about?
    Clearly this is what Mojang intended.

    Yay for half slabs acting as wood, having to switch from pick to axe every time I made a roof was a lot more annoying than you'd think.

    We'll have to see how public the books end up being. I can't have public clopfic on the server. There is a gray area there involving the PG-13 rule.

    Just as long as I don't have to read them...

    Also not that I'm suggesting anything because honestly I don't want clopfics in my castle but can't we just privatize them to individuals the same way we do with doors and chests?

    Added a 'Destroy item' slot to the Survival tab
    When using a lava in a furnace, you now get an empty bucket back
    Nether portals now have a slim chance to spawn zombie pigmen around them
    Improved enchanting
    Made experience easier to acquire
    Made all mobs more challenging
    Fixed repeaters getting stuck when loading a chunk
    Fixed endermen not opening their jaws
    Fixed tools taking damage when breaking insta-breakable blocks
    The end credits are unskippable
    Upon entering the End, you get kicked for moving too quickly
    It looks like the End doesn't generate again

    Enchantment levels are slightly exponential again
    Added Ender Portal frame to creative inventory
    Rain now smoothly fades in/out
    Wooden pressure plates now detect arrows
    Players can now see what blocks other people are mining
    Players can see other player enchanted items glowing in SMP, via

    SP worlds are backwards-compatible now

    Improved tripwire
    Is now triggered by all entities, including arrows
    The wire can now be up to 40 blocks long

    Improved boats
    Can get faster now
    Are easier to control now

    Fixed some bugs
    Fixed stair hitbox - Screenshots
    Fixed a few crash bugs
    Fixed being unable to skip the End credits
    Fixed all entities locking up in some cases
    Fixed pressing F reloading the chunks
    Fixed a memory leak in the server
    Fixed magma cubes' and slimes' jumping animations not showing

    I'm glad they're working on bugs now. Can't wait for an official release!
    Also:

    Fixed pressing F reloading the chunks
    Did they take it out or make it bindable? There was talk of removing it due to server performance issues.

    F changes your view distance. I'm guessing it's a bug in the previous snapshots, as you wouldn't want to reload all active chunks every time you did that.

    Tripwires will be pretty big for EPIC Minecraft Hunger Games.
    There is official word that they are working heavily on performance related issues to be included in the next update. This will not be a short process and stated this could take a week, 2 weeks or more. Unfortunately what that means is that they will probably not be able to use the features in this snapshot for Epic because that would mean supporting a non official build for everyone involved. Bugs in a competition make for shitty situations.

    Looks like ender chests are being updated to per-player, rather than per map/server. How that's going to work is still a mystery, as it was only a tweet at this point.

    It would be nice if each player on a server had their own network of ender chests.

    W 27 snapshot is up. Mostly backround stuff that doesn't necesarily effect game paly. The few things that do are:
    Boats, when broken, now drop boats

    Signs are stackable now

    Crafting them now gives 3 signs instead of 1
    Stack up to 16
