Western Digital N900 Dual Band router, best N router?

edited July 2012 in Hardware
Do any of y'all know about routers?

I am thinking of the Western Digital My Net N900, it just came out

In the $150 to $180 range, it looks like it has the most and best features of the 11n routers.

It says 450+450mbps – why don’t they say 900mbps. Is 450mbps + 450mbps different then 900mbps?

900Mbps isn't really 900Mbps. It's three channels of bandwidth on 802.11g (450Mbit), and three channels on 802.11n (also 450Mbit). You can't combine them, so you can only have two networks with 450 each. You also need a network card, with 450mbit support, that matches the brand of the router you have in order to get that speed.

The best 802.11n routers are the Linksys EA3500, D-Link DIR-665 or Netgear WNDR4500.

I've got the Netgear Thrax mentioned and I'm content with it.
