I was thinking of the next mod i would like to try I would try to get a pc motherboard and ps into a xbox case. I looked all over for this mod elsewere bu i couldnt find it the motherboard would have to have everything integrated like sound video and modem because the xbox is too short for addon cards and you can find somesmall power supplys like the really small ones they put in budjet pcs

http://www.mini-itx.com/ That site has a lot of projects with Mobos that WILL fit in there.

http://www.idotpc.com/ IS where I bought my mini-ITX motherboard. It has a Cryix CPU integrated but it has LAN, Sound, and Vid. Some can take DDR or SDRAM. Lots of choices. Even fanless CPUs.

SFF boxes have pretty small PSU's. Might wanna look at the Shuttle website.

Thats the one I have. I know it enough to run the Cyrix CPUs. There are 150W ones as well. I think thats pretty much the smallest one of normal ATX shape. There are longer, skinnier ones. And ones that are kinda external PSUs.

Yeah, shuttle's stuff is very small and would probably work. You could get some real power in there with their stuff.

There is a tutorial on how to do this on Xbox-scene

Nope, its for putting a xbox in a pc case (why anyone would do that is beyond me)

Is this considered a dead thread? Oh well. You're in luck. I wrote a tutorial on how to put a pc in an xbox case!

    1. Buy an xbox.

That's it. You do know there is a whole computer in there already, don't you? You can have it run unsigned code via various xploits without any mods. Then you can load Linux.

Perhaps he wanted something a bit more powerful than a Tualeron 733 inside his X-Box.

the CPUs in a mini-ITC board are not as powerful as the P3/Celeron type CPUs in the Xbox. Even the 1 Ghz versions.

But they can be run without exploits :). The EPIA boards may even run quieter too.

Personally, if I ever got an X-box I'd just add it to my folding farm :fold:

    Ok Guys
@ first: hi @ all, I#m new to this forum
I am from austria and want to tell ya guys that it IS possible to put a full working PC (except CDrom) into a Xbox case.
I am currently committing this project ... as far as i know i am the first one doing this because my project is different.

    1) it is easy to put an ITX board into such a case cause it is small and u got lots of place in there
    2) I am using a P4 @2,8 GHZ and a GFX 5600 for my project
    3) It is not finished yet ;-)

if you wanna look @ the current pics just get to

    http://www.apfelstrudel.net/rainer/

or to the Forum I use mostly

    http://www.boards.solarisproject.de/casemodder/thread.php?threadid=18346&sid=320147a5489acd9d97cf69957b0f0b0e&threadview=0&hilight=&hilightuser=&page=1

    and be fine

I am currently still working on this project so it does not look to good right now but i am proceeding fast and i hope 2 finish it in 2 or 3 weeks
