The Yarn Thread

Okay, so I've been here a while (quite a bit longer than the "join date" implies...), and while it's come up in conversation briefly a few times, I've never seen an actual thread devoted to it. It's time for change, comrades. Here is that thread.

Yarn stuff. It goes here. Crochet, knitting, even needlepoint and cross-stitch (even though that's floss and thread and not yarn, that's cool. I don't discriminate). Hell, if you macrame or hook or quilt, I won't turn you away. Post your projects. Post your yarn porn. Post your needles and hooks and other awesome stuff.

I know I could go to Ravelry for yarn discussions, but Ravelry isn't Icrontians, so here it is.

I'll post some actual stuff when I'm not at work :3

I read the title as: "I'm gonna tell a massive yarn...." Urk.... :)

@Straignt_Man Yarn yarns are totally welcome :D I have one I could tell, but I'll save it for later when I have more time to type.

    Also, I started a hat :D

Hard to see much, but it's a 3k2p ribbing that I'll start reducing in about eight more inches. The needles are a pair of HiyaHiya 16" 10.5 wooden circular needles. I tried on a 32" circular at the suggestion of a friend of mine, but managing that cable was just too much of a pain in the ass. Luckily I started working on it at the local yarn shop so I just grabbed these and moved it over. This isn't the yarn I wanted to use, but I figured I'd better do a practice run before I make a good one. It should come out looking sorta like this (direct link to Flickr, if it goes down, let me know and I'll fix it):
