My life - the good news

In June 2008 I started dating Melissa. We were both finishing our bachelor's degrees in finance and information systems respectively. After we were done, I convinced Melissa to move in with me ... and that we should both get MBAs. We did. In 2011 we graduated. For both of us, having been through some crazy moments in life, this was the hardest thing we ever accomplished. We both worked over 60 hours a week while cramming an MBA in less than two years at an accredited unversity. We both started to establish careers and saved money like crazy. We never left our 650 square foot apartment. We grew closer, and without further blablabla ... we are more in love now than ever.
Moving on, two years ago we decided we didn't want to bring our kids up in Southern California. No reason to get in to that mess, the point is we wanted something better. We saved, saved, saved and worked, worked, worked. At the end of this summer Melissa left her successful career in commercial real estate and we moved to Colorado. I kept my job managing a start up (risky) that has become profitable after just two years.
Two weeks ago, we found the home we wanted to raise a family in. We pushed and got it for an insane 7% cheaper than market average, and today we signed off on the deal after the seller agreed to our terms.
We now have 5 bedrooms to split between us, and over 3000 square feet. We have a view of a creek from our back yard that generally includes deer and fresh clean air. No more traffic, no more crime, no more hard work getting us nowhere.
This is the good news folks. We closed. I couldn't be happier.
We bought a 5 bedroom house. Clearly both of us want a family, it's all either of us ever wanted. We both worked so damn hard for this, I can't even tell anyone. We love each other so much, all we want is our babies. It's not a bland empty facebook update. We struggled for this, we went hungry for this. We made it. We closed. We saved, and we own the house. We did everything we could, and used all our youthful energy to get here. We closed on the house. It's a done deal.

I wish that was the end of the story, but that's all for now.

Now let's see a pic of dat creek
Best news. Congrats to both of you crazy kids!
Seriously, though, congrats. That's pretty inspiring. Not sure what you mean about wishing it were the end of the story, but there's never an end, only milestones you'll etch yourself into and into yourself.
