Application of wireless routers

I have recently been looking into wireless routers and wireless networks in general and I want to know what some valid applications for wireless routers are, as in, where are they a good thing to have?

    Anywhere you want internet but do not want RJ45 connector requirements.

    Do you have a laptop? Do you like using that laptop in various locations around your house without dragging a cable behind you? Do you have a tablet or smartphone that doesn't have a wired NIC?

    If you answered yes to any of the above, wireless routers may be for you!

    Wired network: Faster, requires wires (faster intranet, not necessarily faster "internet").
    Wireless: Slower, no wires required. If there are a lot of wireless networks in the area, may not be feasible.
