TurkeyLAN 2012
I've set the date for TurkeyLAN this year for December 15th in Palmdale, Ca at the DigiPad. (Changed from the 8th)
It will be an all-day event starting with Breakfast at a local Diner and ending with a viewing of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey at a local IMAX. Show up any time but when you show up will determine where you should meet us.
10:00 AM Alice's Burgers for Breakfast (Yelp) (Google Maps)
~Noon DigiPad for setup and LANing
Won Tons will be hand crafted and fried for our pleasure
Some time between 7 and 10:05 PM The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey @ Cinemark 22 (Google Maps)
Time depends on what is going on and interest. Tickets are between $9.25 and $14.75 /ea depending on 3D/IMAX/Digital.
There is a Taco Bell, a couple of In-N-Outs and many other food places on the way to the theater for foods before and or after the movie.
End? Whenever you want to leave.
Food: SugarCheryl will be making her famous Won Tons. Once you try them, you will know. If you prefer going out for food there is quite a selection of food places very close by.
Drink: BYOB, Soda and water will be provided.
LAN: If you are bringing a PC, please bring an Ethernet cable and a power strip if you have a spare.
Hobbit outing: The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will be released on December 14th, the day before TLAN. The price for IMAX on the weekend is about $15 per person or if the group would prefer normal "RealD 3D" then it is about $10 per. Viewing time TBD.
I'll update this post with more details as I can lay them out. Just wanted to get the date out there so peeps can start planning if they wish.
This is a smaller event that we will plan a couple of games to play but mostly play it by ear, whatever the group wants to play. I imagine Borderlands 2 will be hot this year. Board and consoles games are also prevalent along with the typical PC gaming.
There is no fee for TurkeyLAN but it is BYOB and bringing snacks to share is always welcome
