So I (re)started Amnesia tonight after finally beating Darksiders II (THANK YOU FOR MAKING THAT GAME SO LONG, IT MADE PUTTING OFF THIS PAIN MUCH EASIER)


I'm happy to say that I called Jimmy and Eli before I started, because I already knew I was going to have to have someone to 'talk' to during this excruciatingly painful experience for me. I don't know why I bought this game, it was part of the humble bundle, but horror is definitely NOT my thing.

I played for about 5 minutes, heard a few bumps and groans, jumped 3 times yelled 5 or 6 times...and then turned the game off. Yep, going to need more daylight for this one methinks, going to be a weekend only game.

I've had enough for the night. Running down the hallway and attempting (successfully, on the first try, babyjesusthankyou) to get away from this asshole and I've had enough.

Beaten, finally. It became a bit tedious, at parts, hiding from whatever monster happened to be around. Even with the repetitiveness of it all, it still managed to scare me once (more like 8thice amirite?) again towards the end. The individual torture rooms were a bit much, I had a hard time getting through those - especially because I managed to miss the orb behind the bull, requiring I retrace ALL my steps through that entire area.

In the end, it was a game I didn't much enjoy - I hate revisiting areas I've already explored. Worse, still, is that I seemed to advance further in the game than the game was prepared for. Certain triggers wouldn't happen until I'd completed something two rooms back, but I still seemed to be able to move forward and essentially waste my time in the area. I won't be replaying this one any time soon, if ever.
