IIRC, this was a "Potato Sack" purchase. It's $10 right now on Steam's store page.

The object of this game is to collect sound icons and avoid obstacles including hoops (some rotating) while dropping through space and listening to music. Apparently the objects in the game are created by analyzing the music, so your experience will change (very) slightly as your music does. There are eight songs included and, should you get bored of it, music from your own collection can be added by dropping it into the game's "Songs" folder.

The first time using a song, the game analyzes it and creates a level around the beat. This takes just over a minute, or as I like to call it, 59 seconds longer than the typical gamer's patience.

The included music is fun, but can get a little grating depending on your tastes. Some of the game's objects pulse to the music, which adds a bit of variation to the otherwise static objects.

The game is labelled as a pre-release alpha, and I believe them. It works, but doesn't seem very polished. I found the lack of a background a little visually disturbing, and there doesn't seem to be that much variation in game play. I can see it being fun once the team achieves release status, but for now it's just meh and not much fun. To continue to the full 10 hours (since the game effectively cannot be completed) would be a torturous waste of my limited gaming time. I'd be happy to pick it up again when the devs decide to update its status but for now it will be set aside. $10 is asking WAY too much for this game right now.

This challenge is killing my enjoyment of games. I'm going to bail on the official challenge and play by my own rules:
1. Play every game in order.
2. Complete it if I'm enjoying it. Minimum two hours if I'm not, because it could get better.
3. Five hours if it doesn't have an end
4. I'm done if it requires grinding to complete...because grinding kills #2.

With the above changes, I'm finished with AaAaAA!!! - A Reckless Disregard for Gravity. It's fun, but having to grind to get enough teeth to unlock every level is killing my enjoyment of this game. I could definitely see coming back to it later though...especially if it gains Oculus Rift support.

Having recently finished playing the first game, this feels oddly familiar...as if I've seen these levels before...

2 hours. Done. It's more of the same. I did discover the "kneecap" levels. Those are much more interesting, but it's just not enough to justify putting much more time in, especially given the next games on the list.

On to Alan Wake!

For the Awesome is the first game with more stuff. There's no reason to play Reckless Disregard if you have For the Awesome. It's unfortunate.

Yeah, I failed to notice the duplication until about an hour in. Didn't realize the "new" content was below the default screen :/ I'll come back to it one day. Those kneecap levels are tough.

Alan Wake completed in 22 hours. This includes the two "bonus episodes". The cinematics almost lost me at the start - the models may as well have been puppets the way their mouths moved with the dialog. Apparently Remedy learned how to do it better by the end of the main game though. The one mechanic I found most annoying was the "for all the searchy things, play the hardest level lol". Just give me a chance to find all the damn secrets on normal or easy mode. At least difficulty selection didn't affect the game's outcome. That would have really killed it for me.

Those complaints aside, this game was fantastic. The story kept me playing for several days straight, and the gameplay, while a bit grindy at times, was good enough to bridge the gap between story elements. I really liked the way the game was broken into TV-style episodes. Made stopping points a little easier to find. I'm looking forward to the next game: Alan Wake's American Nightmare.
