Laptop disc drive cutting out
I don't use my laptop for gaming too much. I have a Sony Vaio running Vista. I only play older games that it can run, and has ran fine before with such as Battle for Middle Earth and Stronghold 2.
My problem is when I insert the disc and close the drive it will start running as normal, and the permission window comes up on screen. But after hitting 'Allow' the game menu will start up, but once I hit play or install I hear the fans and the disc drive cut out and the disc won't be spinning. Then it will try and start up again only to cut out. This will repeatedly happen until I hit the eject button on the disc drive. Even then the drive will not open and continue to start reading the disc and cut out until eventually it will decide to open.
Is there a loose connection? Or should I consider replacing the disc drive? If anyone has any idea it would be much appreciated
