If you have an idea for a game, hobby session, or outing you'd like to host during Expo 2013, please email Brian or I (brian or lincoln@icrontic) to detail what you're interested in doing. Outings should be geared toward gaming, a hobby, and/or showcasing local establishments.

As a guideline, gaming events should be 1-3 hours, hobby sessions should be 20-60 minutes, and an outing would be 2-6 hours.

Feel free to start your own discussions to gauge interest. :) Please don't be offended if we decline your idea. You'd *think* there's a lot of time in 4 days, but it ain't so. :ninja:

What video games are you guys wanting to play this year? Besides Team Fortress 2.

Is anyone game for organizing a Minecraft event again?
  • Righto, a very quick LAN game (not hot seat / GMR) of Civ5. If there is enough interest to do this, 2 games with 3 players each, winner of each of those games plays in a final 1vs1. Each game will take probably 2-3 hours. I think we should time it so Basil can join us if possible. We can figure out details if there are enough people interested.

    I'd be interested in playing.

    A minecraft hunger games maybe?

If we can we should most defiantly play a few 5V5 of League of legends.

    +1 for Tribes and League.

I'm afraid I wasn't a fan of the Minecraft Hunger Games. But I would love another "creative mode" building competition. Or even a "here's a chest with xyz supplies. Build something in a plot of land, you have 1 hour, go."

I like adding Civ5, but let's stick to 1 round.

Having multiple winners is better than spending your day/evening committed to 1 game. :) That's my general philosophy for this year. We're not trying to settle who's best, we want maximum fun and variety. I think people shy away from big time commitments, and are justified in doing so.

magic the gathering? you know, with actual cards, not steam game...

The average Tribes game is relatively quick rarely lasting more than 10 minutes, it wouldn't be a stretch to do a best out of 3.

It's also a really easy game to pick up and create a local server and we can easily space out the best players between two teams or more depending on interest.

Ya you are right that makes much more sense. I'm for it! We can make the game settings so the game won't take more than 2/3 hours (really, honest).

Lolol "I got out of the map and fucked around while minecraft hunger games happened and I didn't like it."

I could conceivably attempt MC:HG this year if there's enough interest - and if mojang doesn't patch me into oblivion - but it sounds like there are a lot of other ideas that will take up the time.

@oni_dels There will be at least 1 MTG tournament
@Canti There will be at least 1 Werewolf session
  • ThraxThrax 🐌 Austin, TX Icrontian
I now have a very easy way to run Werewolf on my phone, which eliminates all the hassle of organizing a game. I'd like to run an official game or two for ~1 hour as an event.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I fully enjoyed breaking the game. Trololol, indeed.

But otherwise I don't think "lone survivor" style of games are my cup of tea.

    Speaking of tea...

    More MC: HG plz, kthx.

Also, I'll gladly run another short Rune Classic event. (similar to tribes, probably 2 teams and 3 rounds)

We need those three at expo. We'd be crazy not to.

I could leave Rune though. I didn't really dig it when we played it at expo (so much that I don't even remember having played it until someone mentioned it to me. Maybe I was whiskey though >.> )

Please let me know if you'd like to host/run an event by March 1. That's 2 weeks away. :)
