Thus far I'm looking at 24 slots again. Hopefully will be able to do multiple rounds without requiring everyone's username beforehand - fuck permissionsbukkit, I switched to permissionsEX and shit works a lot nicer.
After much blood, sweat, and bloodsweat, @tiberiuslazarus, @cola, and I have finished the ICHG13 server. This time, complete with proper permissions so we shouldn't have technical issues like last time.
Unless we do. And we may. God help us if Mojang updates in the next six weeks. God help us all.
Now, since I had fifteen people bust out the "in," I have a map geared for sixteen. If more people want in (up to 24, like I promised, more if the server can handle it), we could make it work, but some of you would have to share elevators. In fact, maybe I'll make all the extras share one elevator. That'll learn 'em.
It's supposed to be, but I don't see any reason other than networking that we can't open it up to icrontians in more remote locations. Maybe we could do that for a second game or something, time permitting.
So, apparently Mojang is about to patch-bomb me again this year.
If you haven't already read the thing, please hold off updating to 1.6. We're keeping the server on 1.5.2, because no way in hell am I making my testers run all the tests all over again when there are only two days between patch drop and d-day.
Also I don't wanna troubleshoot 1.6 while I'm at expo.
Eheh... last year's server was what, 200 KB? This one is 1 GB... Packed up, it's only 117MB, but still pretty large to email. I might shoot it over google drive or something
Honestly, I have no idea why, either. I think the dynmap mod is taking up a ton of space.
I'll bring it on a flash drive and on my laptop for redundancy, unless you want to load it on server today?
@Myrmidon The 1.6 Prerelease is out (won't auto update) and with that Mojang announced that 1.6 will not officially release until 7/1 so no worries about the updates during Expo. Yeah!
Also I am here so I am in. I look forward to battling your map this year.

I was thinking about sitting this one out this year, but I guess I'll come get blown up by the mods again.

I promise to behave and not camp out in outer spaces. Probably.
