poutine vs taco bell

Prime just swore on his first borne that there would be a trip to Canada for authentic poutine during Epic. Let it be known.

taco bell is OK

The next day edit: Prime did no such thing, he only said that perhaps at a future Icrontic event there would be a trip if there was enough interest.

    Certainly is, but mine was previously just under the <16 limit (some weird rule about relative age to when you got the passport originally). No biggie, good to have around for other shits.

    I don't know if it will be Expo, because taking 4 hours out of Expo is a Big Deal™.... but during an IC event soon, yes. Maybe an early arrival bonus for Tuesday Expo attendees, or maybe during ICSP. Not sure yet, but this will happen.

    My favorite poutine is still the crappy stuff from the bar down from @Thrax 's place; brown gravy and nacho cheese. Perfect.

    I have to say, the Disco Fries at Vinsetta Garage in Berkley are pretty close to legit. The curds were squeaky.

    I wasn't nearly as impressed by the poutine at Green Dot Stables, alas.

    Smoke's Poutinerie was a very nice stop for me on my last trip to Toronto, though.

    Also, Taco Bell still wins. No matter how much booze. It's taco bell. Poutine is a poor replacement for Taco Belle.

    It's about the total sum of the experience. Going to Canada to a legit poutinerie is a Delightful Experience™ :) If you feel it's too far or not worth the trip or whatever, that's fine, just don't go :D

    I enjoyed the trip to Winsor for Motor Burger. The look on the border guard when we said we were crossing the border to get a hamburger was priceless, you'd think we killed his puppy or something. I would definitely be up for another Motor Burger trip.

    Maybe it could be a cook-off: Make some at ICHQ while a party treks through to Canada. Compare notes after.

    I'd say try making it in the car on the way there, but that could be disastrous and the equipment could look suspect at the border.
