Need witch combat strats stat!

Been playing Super Hostile 12: Inferno Mines by Vechs recently and all goes well (somehow survived a 10 creeper barrage that left a massive crater) but fortunately he has used witch spawners somewhere in the dungeon I'm assaulting. Can anyone tell me an effective way to destroy these ugly hags and get on with my life, for my ass keeps being royally kicked.

    While I have ran into multiple which huts in hardcore runs, I have never come across a witch.

    I'm past the first bunch, but unfortunately from the recon I did using the released beta test footage, there are more...Luckily I have some TNT now and night vision potions, did some one say special forces ohhhh yahhhh!
