In the Market for a new Monitor
Earlier today I was doing some AutoCAD homework when the top 2" of my monitor shuttered and began casting a shadow over said area. The monitor still works but needless to say It's on it's last legs. It's an 8 year old 21" Dell LCD so it's past it's prime.
This brings me to the point of the thread, a new monitor. I want something in about the same size as my current monitor, 1920x1080, in a price range of ~$200 or so.
What are everyone's suggestions? Specific brands to get, ones to avoid? I haven't bought a monitor in years so I have no clue what to get. Last time I brought one LCD was the new thing and 1280x1024 was the max resolution...

What would you recommend then?
This guy (Greg's link) I have seen and looked at before. I like the stand better than the Hanns-G.
3x2312hm = $593.97 (also 10% off right now) 1920x1080
choice is yours Ryan
These do great AutoCAD homework as well.
I think the hardest thing to get used to is there isn't any actual physical buttons on the monitor. It's all done by touch screen
With my tax return I'll have enough that I will reward myself with 3x 2412s.

Play:
Bear in mind that not all games play nicely with this setup, but it usually only takes a quick configuration file edit to fix things up.
Here they are for quite a bit cheaper:

Edit: oops, wrong one. Now I need to decide if 23" is big enough.
