Any CaliCrontians near Firestone Walker Brewery (Buellton, CA)?

I am looking to get some of their special release beer called Parabola. It comes out 4/15.

It's about 2 hours and 45 min drive from my place according to Google maps. I don't think I have anything else that would take me out that way, but if I am out that way I'll keep ya in mind.

Buellton is close to Santa Barbara which is far enough away (2.5-4 hours depending on traffic) that it's usually a way-in-the-future planned weekend getaway for me.

That is the best tri-tip sandwich, ans possibly best sandwich I ever had in my life. Have a cold beer with it. My sister and I used to do that once in a while, it was the closest thing we ever had to church.
You guys ought to make an Icrontic mini event day trip out of it, and buy Magic his beer.

@magic, apologies for not seeing this until now, been a crazy couple of weeks.

As others have said, it's a bit of a drive. I do, however, live next to an EPIC beer shop called Total Wines and More (awful name, best selection of beer I've found anywhere ever). They carry a lot of Firestone Walker, and I'll go by today if I get a chance to see if they have the Parabola. I've heard that beer kicks ass.

Side note - Firestone Walker is one of, if not my favorite California brewery. Their Velvet Merlin Oatmeal Stout is tremendous, and I'm also a big fan of their Double Barrel Ale. They do a lot of hoppy beers, but I can actually stand them which surprises me.

@magic so I went to the booze shop tonight and was not able to find Parabola. I asked employees if they knew if they had it or not, and they seemed certain that the beer has not yet been released. I checked Firestone Walker's website and it just says "april", and the employees seemed sure that the beer isn't out yet but will be available any day now.

I asked them if they expected on carrying it, and they told me that they were, and that I should call in next week to see if they have it.

So yeah, next week I'll go back and see if they have it.

I've tried to look in my area as well (Central Valley). I checked with a guy that does all the purchasing for specialty shop in my area yesterday as well as a BevMo. They all confirmed the same thing, it will probably be in the next FWB distributor shipment for my area around May 1st since it didn't arrive in this weeks shipment.

Forgot to post after todays outing. No dice at the BevMo here (Palmdale) but I put it on the wish list so if they can bring it in they will call me.

Got another local place I'll check in to some time this weekend.

Checked the BevMo in Fairfield, sadly they didn't have any. I'm heading into San Francisco tomorrow, I'll see if they happen to have any there.

My brother brought a bottle of Parabola with him for Christmas this year and OMGAWESOME.

It has a 95 by the bros on BA, which is extremely impressive, and it's oh so amazingly delicious.

They only had one case, and they're limiting one per customer. Only had 4 bottles left when I got in. This is a larger bottle, 650ml bottle $15. It's going to be TORTURE having this in my cabinet until I get to the D to deliver it to ya.

Ok so I went back and bought another one, but it was their last bottle.... and I kind of drank it.

I had to know for sure it was safe for your consumption. Just to state - it is. Holy crap this beer.

I will keep looking at other shops, I guess more shipments showed up today at Bevmo.
