Injustice, Or Superman's thirst for vengeance and power over the world
Fighting games featuring a vast array of character from a specific company's multiple world / plane of existence / multiverse, isn't new, whether it's Marvel, any of the gajillion Capcom crossovers, and, I don't know, I guess this, but DC comics isn't known for it, mostly after the (sadly) failure and shame for all MK fans, Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe.
But what good came out of it is that NetherRealm Studio, now acquainted with the DC guys, and having gained a lot of experience from past failure and current success, have now released Injustice: Gods Among Us.
Obviously, the excitement is palpable since it's announcement way back and mostly since DC Comics released a prequel comic book, explaining why all your favourite and some "less known" Heroes and Villains are now all fighting each other. Without spoiler, lets just say The Joker did something bad to Superman, and the Son of Krypton now wants peace on Earth and is gonna do whatever it takes to obtain it.
A free demo is available both on Playstation Network and X-Box Arcade, and the game hit the shelves on the 16th.
I've already pre-ordered it, with some neat bonuses. And obviously, I bought the collector edition, which includes new skin, a teaser of the aforementioned comic book, and an awesome statuette, (though I prefer the UK version better)
you know that in the next months I wont leave the comfort of my couch, and non of my friends will want to play with me, since Mortal Kombat is my field of expertise... (I could legally put it on my resumé as skills and proficiencies.)
the full roster of character can easily be found on the interwebz, but expect a lot of DLC and hopefully crossovers. Netherrealm surprised us with Kratos as PS3 exclusive on their last Mortal Kombat, but also Freddy Krueger, of Elm Street fame, and new and old character from their own universe. DC comics has enough character to not have to dig into other companies' universe, but Scorpion and Sub-Zero would be nice. Or Swamp Thing with the White Lantern Ring (yes that's a thing. yes there's more than just Green Lanterns...), but so far all we have announced is that the season pass will give 4 DLC character, one of them being Lobo.

Comics aside, I wonder if the fighting game tries to tie itself into the story at all, or if they just went "lolore"
Capcom, Namco, Arc System Works, Team Ninja, they all do fighting better.
Still, I'm intrigued, the idea of a DC fighting game, it excites my inner nine year old. I just can't risk $60 on it, been bitten one too many times on MK games that promised to re invigorate an old beloved franchise, to only let me down.
