Simple. I wasn't playing PC games during the time SS2 was out. My computer at the time probably couldn't even handle it. Instead, I was too busy playing Final Fantasy Tactics or some other PS1 RPG.

Just to share, I think System Shock 2 could be in my top 5 games. It's scary without being overtly so and it's playability is still pretty swell.
Good to know. And yeah, by your reaction, I could tell that it was more than worth the $7 I spent to pick it up. I bet I'll be nerding out about it with you someday when I finally get a chance to play it.
So it isn't so? I started a thread a while back asking for advise on how to get me vista build to run System Shock 2 because I never had the experience of playing the game when it game out in 1999. SS2 is legendary and just watching gameplay footage has creeped me out. Thank you Steam!
I had a friend who told me I had no choice than to play a co-op play-through of that game. One of the best gaming experiences I ever had. We both classed our characters different, one specializing in hacking and stuff and the other in combat. It was a blast.
Got out of the 'beginning' situation (after you've assigned points/class). Frantically killed the first "many" that I saw and hid in a room and then the many came for me. It's been a year and I haven't played it since. 10/10 would frantically die again and not play SS2 for another year.

So I bought it. Thanks?
System Shock 2 is the game that came before Bioshock (its spiritual successor)
Also bought on the day it was released. In my all time top 3.

Better than whatever shitburger you get on the 99 cent menu.
That looks fun to play, I think I'll buy it. "Already in steam library" -Recurring theme with steam sales.
I'm from the future to tell you about the 99 cent menu..
Remember what they took from us.
