client.cfg being deleted?

I was checking up on one of my servers today and noticed something really weird. The server runs 4 clients installed as services. 3 of the clients had shutdown stating that there is already another client with mach id 1 running.
/me thinks that's weird b/c each client had a diff mach id...

So I reboot the server. Same thing happens...
I deleted the client.cfg for each, and recreated with mach ids 1-4.
The first client started fine, but the other clients keep saying another client is using mach id 1. So I checked each working folder, and the client had delete each client.cfg itself??? :skeptic:
What the.... @#$%

Any ideas?

btw, console v4 running as service w/ -forcesse flag

What about user IDs? Did they match or were they all different.

Might be just easier to start with a clean slate. And make sure to delete the reg keys as well.

What all reg keys should I delete?

I have one machine that does this to me also.
It must be a reg glitch.
I have del all f@h folders and reinstalled, it still does it.

I figured out that if I copy a client.cfg from mach id 1 to 2, it still happens. I had to manually create the client.cfg for each mach id. :grumble:

the user id thing doesn't apply in a case like this ...one machine will have one user id and 4 machine id's. the user id issue applies to 2 or more seperate machines running the same user id.
