How to capture audio & video from a concert DVD

I have been searching and trying, with no luck, a variety of freeware to capture/save both audio and video from a concert DVD I purchased. What I want to do is record and save as a file part of this concert DVD so I can play my favorite parts without having to hop or scan through the DVD itself. Can anyone help? Thanks.
