Gaming PC Ram

edited February 2004 in Hardware
How much RAM do I need to run games on a gaming PC?
I can either get 512 or 1 Gig of RAM... I'm leaning to 512 since people tell me it's more than enough.

I play FFXI, and I've heard 512 is way way enough to play that.
Tell me what you think, please!

I have always used 512 but right now i'm testing it with 1024. Can't say that i see too much of a difference to be honest. The games are COD, Moto GP 2, Worms 3D, NFSU and a few golfgames. If you dont overclock and want to start with 512, get one 512mb stick instead of 2X256 incase you want to upgrade.

512 is fine for now. I wouldn't say it's "way way more than enough".. i'd say it's the minimum. But in a year, you'll want 1 gb for the very latest games, I'm sure.
