I DON'T listen to this but at the moment I am curious. Why was rock music so unbelievably terrible when I was in high school (early 2000s)? My parents had Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. I had Nickelback and Puddle of Mudd. Fuck.
I had a great discussion about how good music died in 1997. I'm not sure what caused it, but music from 1997-2005 or so was just really terrible. It got better again.
I do wonder how many people will never hear anything past "Thrift Shop". It's a great song, but very shallow compared to the other stuff I've heard in my <1 listen through.
well same love was actually played a fair amount before thrift shop became a thing, but thrift shop has definitely taken off way more. ellen had same love on her show a few months ago.
the idea that someone would stop someone else / hate someone else for wanting to be able to cuddle / do whatever the fuck they wanted to makes so sad. there's nothing better than laying in bed with the person you love after a shitty day.
No matter how much I try I just can't enjoy Opeth. I always think "hmm, this is sorta like Dream Theater." But then I remember I could just listen to Dream Theater. On a completely unrelated note.
DREAM THEATER!
It's long I know but take half an hour sometime and listen to Octavarium. I hope one day this song will be regarded as highly as the works of Beethoven, Bach, and Mozart.
