They reduced server populations (thus increasing queues) to handle some issues they were having.
I've been having a ton of fun the little bit I've been able to play, though! Look for bonus objectives on your map.. those are good experience. And group up for early quests so you don't need to compete with as many people with respawn. Once you get out of the jungle starting zone it's much better.
Argh! i have been in queue all day long, and every time i get to triple digits i get dc'ed. ONE time it was an issue on my end, but the other FOUR times were not. i dont know whether i will try again this weekend...i might just wait till monday.
I looked at the EU forums this morning, didn't sound like it was quite as bad. At least there is a blue post getting updated regularly as they progress through maintenance.

After many attempts to get back in... suddenly at 478 in queue with 3h estimate to get in.

I'm in on Alexstraza, every time I try to get to a Draenor zone not my garrison, booted.
Got down to about 990 in queue, then the server died. After almost two hours, was able to requeue. Now at 2399 in queue.
Sigh.
Yeah, I logged on at 5:30 when I got home from work. 3500 in line. Didnt actually get on until 10:30. Now, server maintenance have the day. :/

5357 before i got dc'ed for a 5th time. i checked my internet connection...uninterupted.
so ultimately i think the release of draenor is going to be what pushes me to try that game you guys are always talking about...TF2
