How Accurate is ASUS PC Probe?

My old system is a P4 2.4 533(OCd to 2.66) on a ASUS P4S533 MoBo.

The latest ASUS PC Probe (Ver 2.22.04) software is telling me my processor temp is 36C(97F). Using Factory HSF w/ Arctic Silver 3.

How accurate is this, seems low to me for an OC'd processor?

Thanks,

I always view absolute temp readings a little skeptically. I use MBM5, but mostly as a relative measuring tool. In other words, while I consider the temp reading to not necessarily be accurate, I watch temp change like a hawk.

In your case, I would set the CPU at stock rated speed and note the temp. Then compare that to the OC temp. It is the amount of temperature rise that is really pertinent. I would also try MBM5 for comparison, and check with ASUS and see if there are other versions of ASUS Probe. I've heard that different versions are more accurate with different ASUS boards.
