Best Catalyst Driver (your personal experience)

edited February 2004 in Hardware
Just wondering what cat driver people prefer especially if you're using a 9800 pro. I haven't upgraded from 3.7 yet because i've heard the newer ones have problems. Is 3.7 the last one to work well for most people? Or are there some nice perfromance increases in the newer ones?

3.7 was a longtime favorite and remains the fastest. 3.10 worked very well and fixed some bugs that plagued 3.7. 4.2 (just installed) may be the best yet compatability wise. At least for me, performance seems to have dropped off a tad from 3.7 in the newer driver sets - not much but the difference is measurable.

I had 3.5 installed the longest. Currently using the 4.1's.

I still use the 3.7s. No reason to upgrade really. There's nothing like consistency.

I upgrade whenever a new set comes out. I don't really care about 2 FPS. Bug fixes make me happy.

3.7's most definitely. I've had troubles with all other newer versions.

I've used the 3.7s and the 3.10s, both without problems. I had problems with 3.9s and avoided 3.8 like the plague.

It's odd that I've never had a problem with any of the Catalyst releases for the 9x00 series. Ever.
