I have a feeling that if this renovation is as comprehensive as they say it will be, this place will no longer be on the "cheap places to stay while visiting ICHQ" list...

Damn hotel hipsters.
Wasn't this on the "cheap place to get bedbugs while visiting ICHQ" list? I remember it being touted as sketchy and moldy.
Yep. We'll see how cheap it remains after this overhaul. I have serious doubts that it will be affordable after this.
Looks like renovated rooms are currently renting for $109+tax per night.
The REAL re-renovation has not begun yet. They're absolutely gutting the place and restarting from scratch.
The should torch the place then re-build. I shudder just thinking about that place. Ugh.
Welp.

Looks like they basically did.
That does look pretty nice now. I wonder if there are classier ladies in the hallways now
I would totes stay there, but I bet it'll be closer to downtown prices.
Still don't trust it......
This was my reaction when Brian said as much on mumble
Those look like hospital rooms with a couple of rugs thrown in.
I'd stay there if it were cheap, but there are lots of other options around $149/night or less.
I need to stay at your hospitals then.
Maybe this is one of those hotels now where you are missing a kidney when you check out.
Organ donor center disguised as a hotel.
The Trumbull & Porter is now open for business
$139 seems kind of steep for that spot. Hope they do ok. It really looks nice.
Also: Anyone else see the humor in the fact that they're doing a 'soft opening' considering their previous (well earned) reputation?
You're not asking the important questions: do they turn a blind eye with what/who you bring to your room with you?
That's not steep at all for a luxury hotel anywhere near downtown.
I guess I don't (yet, they don't have any reputation outside of the old) consider it a luxury hotel at this point.
Wow, I think it looks great. Clean and modern/industrial. Not a bad price near downtown. Might have to check it out next time we visit.
Donuts and hookers all day erry day.
