Earlier this week (just Thursday, April 30 I think), it was announced by Playtonic Games (original and former members of Rare) that they would be working on the spiritual successor to Banjo & Kazooie, titled Yooka-Laylee.

They said they would be using Kickstarter to get the game funded, and that said kickstarter would open on May 1st.

Their funding was met in under 40 minutes of opening, and as of this post is sitting a bit over £800,000 out of the £175,000 asked for.

Most stretch goals have been met as well, with only 2 left at £875,000 and £1,000,000 and with 45 days left those will likely get funded as well.

It's obvious fans have been asking for this for a long time, and though this is a reincarnation instead of a resurrection, they seem thrilled to have it regardless.
