Yes. Please. Yes. That was a legitimately good action movie that I want to see turn into a franchise.
I loved John Wick. Watched it twice in a row, basically. Great flick!
I suppose I'll have to watch it, then, eh?
The first one, that is.
Not sure how I feel about this - it was an entertaining movie, that's true; but I just didn't see enough content to justify another.
Sure badass assassin alright, but what would 2 explore?
Wick 1 laid the groundwork of a cool shadow world with its own rules and customs (e.g. the coins). How did Wick become a badass? What's the honor code in that underworld?
I want to know!
Prequel story would be fantastic.
While I do think the explanation would be cool for the coins, etc., not sure that it has enough legs to stretch out.
Guess we will find out.
I would love a movie about another assassin in the hotel, or potentially many movies.
Hype
More Hype !!
this is Keanu at his best. hardly saying anything and killing bitches
Whoa.
Looking good so far!
I squeeed a bit
John Wick, the name is not an accident. John Woo, or John W if you prefer is what this all pays homage to. I loved John Wick, but go back and watch all the old John Woo stuff you can get your hands on, it's even better.

Trust me, if you like John Wick, see "A Better Tomorrow" "The Killer" and "Hard Boiled"
I love this stuff and I'm happy to see a modern Western filmmaker do it some justice. Other attempts have been made, some decent ones, but nothing as good as John Wick.
All said, John Woo, guy was ahead of his time, but ultimately Hollywood took hold of him and made some silly movies. The classic Hong Kong stuff is so good though. It shows you the difference in culture where lawyers and big money don't run everything. Those films make gun violence an art form. If you loved John Wick, see them immediately.
6 Weeks Hype!
It was SO FUCKING GOOD.
GO SEE IT
Yep.
Cosign. Successful sequel achievement unlocked.
Hmmmmmmm. It was ok.
It really was gun porn for 2 hours - not that I'm complaining, but I liked the John Wick story better; feels like the Matrix 2 lite.
The thing that was just so stunning to me was the cinematography. This is like a master class in action filmmaking. Every hit and shot felt so visceral without any shakycam or glitz. It was just brutal, effective, and fast. The action sequences were like ballet.
I like it because it feels like Harry Potter if Harry Potter was an assassin and couldn't do magic.
I really enjoyed this article about Keanu Reeves' greatest strength as an actor being "emptiness".
I got around to seeing it last night. These are without a doubt the best Western Gun Fu movies. They get it. I love how they have crafted a unique world where this kind of violence almost feels common. Two guys on a transit train trying to kill one another, the crowd is like, oh yeah, that again...
Also, very minor SPOILER ALERT...
I am thrilled there is going to be a third, perhaps the book end of a trilogy. This whole film did feel like a second act, but in the best possible way.
