A great read on Vox about the death of the 2005 internet. This hit a lot of very close notes with me.

I'm at An Event Apart right now, and I gotta say, the nostalgia is palpable. And not like, "oh I wish", but "I think the pendulum is about to swing again".
Any time some webpage wants to show me paginated "ten things" or a video, I just click out. I want real content.
The problem is, there are a lot of places that give you 'ten things' on the same page, and people love that shit.
I don't know if this is as much of a paradigm shift rather than catering to the lowest common denominator. Content junkies want top ten lists to scroll through on their phones in the bathroom, others want full in depth articles. The former account for a good portion of the traffic.
The old web is down to this.... http://www.loudmouthtim.com/
Figured this would be a good thread to post this on...
