I'm just trying to figure out if I'm getting the kind of performance from my equipment that I should be.
For the amount of money I spent on this system, I really need for it to perform according to the level of performance it should be performing at.
In other words, I want to make sure I got my moneys worth!
The only way I know of to find out is to ask all you gamer guys......
Definitely is performing right on par with your equip ...it's what we strive for with cheaper equipment by overclocking. You would bring in one hellacious score if you were overclocking that's for sure. But for stock you are right on par for what you've got.
The beta 84.12 drivers are definitely doing it for me ...at least a 70 point overall increase.
video: 488/1300
Keep in mind a 70 point increase in 3DMark is negligible. Chances are your score would very by at least 50-70 points every time you rebooted/tested your system.

No way ...the score variation is no where near that many points ...not but maybe 5-7 for me anyway.
Just to prove to myself I ran it again just now w/ same video OC and I even lowered the htt 1 mhz to 241x11@1:1 ...here's what I got.
What I'll do next is boot down and let the machine sit for about 10 minutes to cool down. Then I'll run it once more from a cold boot ...it's the only thing I can think to do different other than physically shake the box!;D I'll just add the results to this same post.
edit:\ Sorry I didn't get to post back last night I got sleepy waiting on ambient temps to settle down.

Just baaaaaaaarley fit into my case, and I had to remove the first three 3.5" bays to do it. You can slide a sheet of paper around it's edges, but anything thicker couldn't squeeze around it.
:celebrate I just received my 7900GT's and have run a benchmark on a single card stock and OC'd with coolbits using the "Detect Optimal Frequencies" option.
Got 4150 on stock and 4470 on frequencies of 552/859
I am going to fiddle around with two of these babies in SLI over the next few days. Will post some scores then.
:bawling: your opty should kick my +3500 venice's **se at the best of times and your 7800GTX is pretty close to the 7900GT so I can understand how you managed that so easily.
But wait...I shall be running two of those babies in SLI and am working on overclocking my Venice...then there shall be war
So only about 1fps on that kick ass CPU? I think my laptop's 2GHz P-M does just as good, I know my 2GHz Athlon X2 was almost getting 2 or 3fps IIRC. Gonna have to see if I can find those scores since I don't have that computer anymore.
Well maybe not...and this was 2.5GHz. I must have been thinking at it's high point instead of average. 6 hours sleep over 72 hours maybe making me delirious.
CPU Tests
CPU1 - Red Valley 0.584 FPS
CPU2 - Red Valley 0.914 FPS

I didn't want to have to get into over clocking...but you never know what the future holds!

The guys need to change hosting companies and go with someone who is running decent equipment.
I heard they were hosted on a server running Windows 98...first edition!:sad2:
Sorry csimon, but what point are you trying to make here? :confused2
So SmJ ...how do you like the pa160?
64 3500+
7800gt
Pretty good for a 6800GT I'd say. That WC system gives the GPU core a lot of OCing headroom.

looking around on here that looks alright for a relatively low end system?
are there any other real bang for your buck overclocking cards around? i love a challenge
