I'm rallying an army to promote my selfish desires for 1Gbps interwebs... and by army I mean 3 friends so far and *maybe* the Indy Star (online). But hey, better than nothing... I can hope.

I nominate Fishers, IN btw. Everyone should nominate Fishers...I'll let you come over and bask in its radiant glow if I get it - I promise. Not convinced? Ah well... I tried.

Not to be out done for those in Canada Bell is also experimenting with a similar 'competitive' Fiber to home offering*. It will be a 15mb (burst) connection with a 70gb montly cap. All this could be yours for $100 a month.

*Assuming you are willing to pay the last mile charge of them running fiber to your house at $100 a foot.

My teleco installed fiber to the home in our community, but alas they only offer a max of 1.5mbs. I have 1mbs and it costs me $50. Gotta love rural America.

I want to recommend Palo Alto for Google's community experiment with broadband. How can I do this without having a gmail account?

Why not just create one? It's free and fast to sign up for, plus it's a Google account for all their services.
