Is this possible? Lotsa places I've been reading say you can burn it to CD then rip it from there, but instead of wasting discs, is there a software method?

    Yay for re-encoding. It's going to sound ****e to be honest. Are you ripping from CDs? If so, use my guide. If you are downloading, then I recommend finding somewhere else to get them, as re-encoding lossy codecs is never good.

    You might wanna try the program goldwave. It's what i use to rip audio and video seperately and you can save the audio as a wave file and then just convert to mp3. It's quality is just as good as the original
