Hey guys,
This was mentioned once on my previous thread, "What constitutes a "good" or "bad" game?" . In it, the topic of soundtracks was briefly mentioned. Since then, I have wondered what your favorite game soundtracks are. My "Soundtrack library" ranges from CoD 4: Modern Warfare to Homefront ( @UPSLynx 's last THQ game, I think.) to F1 2011 and NASCAR 06: Total Team Control. So what songs from games do you like?
Love to hear from you guys!

Here's my favorites from CoD 4: Modern Warfare
My personal favorite...
@aspieRommel you'll probably love the MGS soundtracks, same composer as Modern Warfare.
All time:
Another favorite
And of COURSE
And another
ill probably get some flak for this but FFVIII
also Halo: CE
special mention to the halo 2 scene with the instrumental version of "blow me away" by breaking benjamin. i used to play that room on legendary over and over and over... cuz that song just gets you so pumped!
Forgot these:
Video game soundtracks are what defined my musical taste and interest growing up. Up until Sonic Adventure 2, I wasn't sure on what genre of music I liked the most. Jun Senoue's rock decided that easily. I like most forms of music though and a various amount of game soundtracks are in my collection and include stuff from the following:
and a ton of fan made remixes and covers from sites such as Newgrounds and OverClocked ReMixes.
Really hard for me to pick a favorite so I'll just throw a few out there.
Oddly enough I've never played Skyrim or portal but I LOVE the music!

ITT: Broken scroll wheels
Definitely my fav FPS soundtrack of all time, RTCW. Great melodies, orchestration, theme development, coordination with gameplay, asymmetrical meters, the works! It's like a combination of Hans Zimmer with Tchaikovsky. Hemiolas, hemiolas everywhere...
If I had to pick one more it would be from GTR2. For a simulator racing game, the soundtrack was really good. When I go for late night drives, I listen to this sometimes. I'd like to the think the simplistic melody above the drum and bass accompaniment is like a musical way of portraying the subtle steering inputs of a driver amidst the the sheer rage of a red-lining reciprocating piston engine. Here's an except, the melody comes in around 1:53ish.
+1 to the Deus Ex soundtrack. I bought the GOTY edition way back in the day which came with the soundtrack on CD. Listened to it on repeat for many a drive to and from MTU.
Full soundtrack goodness follows.
Dat 'not to be sold separately'.
Dat Frank Klepacki.
Also really liked mass effect's OST.
Inb4 mechwarrior OST
The Chrono Cross OST is one of my all time favorites (also, that game rules, I don't care what people think).
This piece is from NASCAR 06: Total Team Control. I should note that it was an edited version in the game, but it still rocks either way.
It's got that 90's New-Age genre feel to it.
They used this tune in Rush 2 as well! Love it!
So much win on DKC2! Listening to the opening theme from that game is an experiential reminder of what an amazing game you were in for when firing it up.
Edit: Brings me back to the YTMND days with this gem
Forgot tony hawk pro skater 2. No original soundtrack but I used to love listening to those songs
It is interesting to me how much the Hotline Miami 2 soundtrack sounds like RUSH may have done it right around Power Windows.
Oh man, @Cliff_Forster the Quake 2 soundtrack is SO GOOD! This jam STILL pumps me up.
