Expo 2019: Pokemon Go Trade Thread
You're probably saying "WTF Digi!? It's not even 2019 yet. What's with the Expo 2019 thread already?"
Well a couple things have lead to this:
A. We are limited to a single special trade per day in Pokemon Go. This includes any trade that includes a Pokedex entry for either party and any Legendary or Shiny whether the receiving player has that Pokedex entry or not.
B. There is an event in the coming weeks that will award double candy for transferred Pokemon. These are rare and it is unlikely to happen again before June. I have too many legendary Pokemon that I would happily turn in for 2 candy but would also be happy to hold on to them for a trade in June. This ended back in December, 2018.
C. Trades are cheaper the higher the friendship level is between the trainers making the trade. Being Great or Best friends would be ideal, Best being the cheapest. It takes 90 days of friend interaction to get to best friends meaning at latest, some point in March 2019 will be the last point when two trainers could start the process and be Best friends by Epic.
So what I would like to do is plan out my (and others can do the same here) special trades for the 5-6 days that I will be there.
For Example @CrazyJoe has indicated he has been picking up some Carnivine to trade. Because I do not have one, I would like to trade Joe for one, but this will be a special trade so I want to focus on being Best friends with Joe by Epic and having a day where both of us will be there set aside for us to trade. I also need to know what he wants for it so I can earmark it.
Here is my Haves/Wants - Don't worry too much about my Wants. If you have something on there, Awesome! Let me know. You DO NOT have to give me something on the Wants for the Haves. Let me know what you want from my Haves so we can work out a trade. I save most of this stuff in hopes I can help someone out with their Pokedex/Raid Teams/Battle Teams, not looking to profit off them.
If there is something you are looking for, throw it out here. You never know what trainer might have a spare of exactly what you are looking for.
Here are the regionals. Take a look and see what you might be able to catch.

Re: What was your biggest career jump?
Since the cat is out of the bag at work, I'm free to talk about this more publicly.
I just accepted a position in New Hampshire doing R&D/Product Development for Episerver. I've known most of the team for a few years, as its the platform my current (previous? I don't know how time works anymore) job uses.
I'll get to do fun cloud deployment work and pretty much anything else I want. Having the choice of what to work on will be so cool. Its been a long strange road from a public university to an agency now to R&D. This is the most excited I've been for a job ever.
For anyone that knows me, you know this is a brave new experience for me.
Re: Moving servers soon
Tushon has done most of the setup for the platform.
I've done most of the setup for the application-level stuff (code deploy pipeline etc).
We'll probably have the integration of the two sorted out by Christmas.
I'd expect downtime over the holidays or during ICNY to finish it up.
Then... All The Things™ are unblocked.

Re: What are you listening to?
I’ve curated a playlist (a rare thing for me) called “Ben Folds Rock Out”. It consists of just under 90 minutes (basically 2 discs worth) with at least 1 track from every Ben Folds / Ben Folds Five album (including the 3-EPs project from 2003). These are all the major-release versions of the songs.
It started with me having the first two tracks stuck in my head and always wishing that energy went on for a whole album so I could use it while coding or driving (the lulls really kill me in those situations if I'm even a little tired). It evolved into a pretty deliberate ordering to have some nice contrasts and transitions, and fading back and forth between modern and classic Ben Folds albums.
- Zak And Sara
- Rockin' The Suburbs
- There's Always Someone Cooler Than You
- Dog
- In Between Days
- Get Your Hands Off My Woman
- Hiro's Song
- Trusted
- Rent a Cop
- Jackson Cannery
- Hiroshima (B B B Benny Hit His Head)
- Song for the Dumped
- Effington
- Sports & Wine
- Dr. Yang
- Bitch Went Nuts
- One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces
- Steven's Last Night in Town
- Army
- Do It Anyway
- So There
- Underground
- Them That Got
If this was the set list at a Ben Folds concert, I'd lose my goddamn mind.

Yet another 3D printing project: Multi-piece Lightsaber
I got scolded at ICOK this year for not sharing more of my 3d printing stuff (@Linc).
So here's what I'm currently working on. It's a multi-piece lightsaber model that screws together. It's original intention by the creator (not me) is to be fitted with a SFX blade, but those are super expensive (like $150 for the cheap one), and I'm not in the mood for that.
So what I'll probably do, since the innards are pretty open, is rig it up for either a high-powered green LED or go nuts and rig it up with a laser pointer. Either way, there's tons of room inside.
I still have to do some cleanup on the threads, especially the end-cap, and there's a lot of support material clogging up the ridged part of the handle, but otherwise, it has come out quite nicely. I'll probably do some sanding and painting because lightsabers should look metal (and also METAL).

Re: What was your biggest career jump?
Got my undergrad in music performance, then a master's in psychology. Now I work in manufacturing at one of the greatest companies in the world and find myself really satisfied with my career choice change. Hard work beats smart 9 times out of 10.
