Re: Bohemian Rhapsody - Ded
I'm now at the point where I've audited their discography and picked the order in which I will be purchasing and exploring it. I now own 1974-77 (4 albums: Sheer Heart Attack, A Night At The Opera, A Day At The Races, News Of The World). Next is '77-80 (Jazz, The Game), then backup to Queen & Queen II, then press on into the 80s.

Re: Bohemian Rhapsody - Ded
NYT has a nice recap of the moment at Live Aid, with the subhead "Freddie Mercury’s set in July 1985 is often called one of the greatest live performances of all time. What made those 21 minutes so memorable?"
One standout passage:
Here was a gay man stuck in a pop culture moment that continued to insist his identity remain shielded in code. But what glorious code he chose! Through his balletic gait and florid presentation, Mercury rubbed the nose of Live Aid’s global audience in a powerful brand of effeminacy, seducing them into adoring something they might otherwise view with contempt.

Re: Sincere congratulations to Lincoln and Aaron!
Thanks
Aaron had to work today, but we went to Little Tree and saw Bohemian Rhapsody tonight. A+ anniversary, would do again.

Holy hell, what a movie.

I've been seeing a bit of criticism in the days following the opening about how they treated his sexuality.
That movie couldn't have been any gayer without full frontal.

I haven't felt such an emotional ride from a movie in I can't remember how long.
Samesies.

Re: Any watch nerds on Icrontic?
Nothing is more Icrontic than going to Original Pancake House with @primesuspect and @cola, and Brian giving a stranger a discount code to Shinola because he saw him browsing their site in the mile-long Saturday line.

Happy anniversary to Icrontic's handsomest couple.

Happy anniversary!
Weddings can feel like a blur. Looked through my photos, and just noticed these blurry beer-pouring action shots:

Re: Any watch nerds on Icrontic?
New timepiece get!
This has been on my wishlist for many years, and I don't remember the reason why but I have a feeling it's because @Thrax knows what I'm into enough to recommend this piece. Either way, it's been either unavailable for years, or crazy overprice. Last week, I got a notification that it was available and at a crazy good price. I didn't waste any time, and now I'm the proud owner of this limited edition Disney/Invicta watch, number 2494/3000.
It's powered by the Seiko caliber NH35A automatic movement, and is encased in stainless steel all around (thankfully, since my skin is toxic enough to corrode most metals). This is my first Invicta watch, and so far I'm very happy with it. Plus, as a Disney nerd, I've always wanted a "grown up" version of the gimmick Mickey quartz watches they sell at Disneyland/World. This is exactly what I was looking for (save for maybe the moving arms, but whatever).
