Re: Help me rebuild
Here is what I would recommend, GPU and SSD are portable, you can take them to a new platform. Trick with motherboard and CPU is the space we are in right now. In a few months, AMD releases their new platform, which is supposed to be amazing (but we have heard that before, so only time will tell)... Intel is out there for you if you want to go to an entirely new platform, but I'm not sure the Cyber Monday deals are going to justify a "let's do it now" kind of move... the GPU and SSD now, that is a better space where I feel confident you will not regret your buy in a few months.
In the budget SSD race my favorite item without a doubt is the Crucial MX300. Easy to clone your drive with the included software, crucial drives are reliable as I have used and I have installed a lot.
For GPU, you have a few good options, the RX470 and RX480 are both phenomenal upgrades for you. If you are satisfied gaming in 1080P you can get a RX 470, Amazon has a sale on a nice Asus branded card now.
The RX480 8GB is worth the extra dollars if you think you think you might be getting a 1440P or 4K monitor for gaming in the near future, otherwise the 470 will do for 1080P and save you a little money and extend the useable life of your PSU if you are looking to maintain budget.
Raid Summary 11/28/2016 2/3 N ToV and 7/7 H EmN
On Sunday we took our casual raid group on a 6/7 clear of heroic EmN. This is especially impressive since there were many people who have never done heroic EmN and yet we plowed through it.
On Monday we decided to finish our lockout and got SIX raiders their Ahead of the Curve achievement for heroic Xavius.Congrats!
We finished the evening with a sneak attack of heroic Odyn (which didn't go well), and then went back to normal ToV, where we finished the night clearing Odyn and Guarm.
The discussion has come up from a few different people about what's next, with Mythic EmN (or at least Mythic Nythendra) coming up multiple times.
The officers are discussing this right now. We DO want to go Mythic, and we DO believe this guild is capable of mythic progress. We will be publishing some discussions soon about expectations, roster, and strategies to earn a spot on the mythic team.
For now, we'll continue next week on Heroic EmN and Normal ToV as we've been doing. We SHOULD be able to clear normal Helya next Monday with our progress team.
Great work, IC!
Re: Macbook Pro 13" Late 2016 external video support
2x 4096x2160 = 17.7 megapixels
5120x2880 = 5K = 14.74 megapixels
4096x2160 = 4K = 8.85 megapixels
2560x1440 = 2K = 3.69 megapixels
1920x1200 = 1K = 2.30 megapixels
Since it can handle 2x 4K monitors @ 60Hz, what's really being said, here, is that this port has enough bandwidth to handle 17.7 megapixels at 60 updates/sec (60Hz). Or half the megapixels (8.85mp/4K) at double the update rate (120Hz). And so on. Provided the (megapixels * the update rate) is lower than (17.7 mil. * 60), the port has enough bandwidth to handle it. (Aside: megapixels*rate = mpix/sec). That said, there's probably some other hardware limit that caps the maximum number of displays to 3 or 4.
And provided Apple made the correct splitter, should be no issue to handle 1x4K + 2x1K. That's only 285 mpix/sec out of the 1062/sec that can be handled.
However it is likely that all three displays will need to be DisplayPort for maximum compatibility and reliability. DVI and HDMI use outdated signaling techniques that are difficult to handle in large numbers.

That's not how you spell Cordelia
Shitposting aside I was a big fan of both the Phoenix Wright games and the Professor Layton games. They're less action and more courtroom drama/puzzle game respectively but they're very enjoyable.

Re: Must-Play DS/3DS Games
Seconding a lot of the previously made suggestions here (Especially Link between worlds, Etrian Odyssey, Monster Hunter (fun multiplayer), and Fire Emblem Awakening (Tharja best waifu)).
Smash Bros is an essential for me. Obviously I love the series, but I've been coming back to that game on my 3DS for years. Never though I'd love it so much on a mobile platform. It's the perfect in-flight time killer for me.
Both the Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time remakes are fantastic on the system, and I'd argue they play better than their original counterparts. Especially Ocarina - aiming with motion controls, and having actually fully rendered 3D environments is a total game changer. Mario 64 is actually a DSi port, but it still plays super well on the 3DS.
Mario Golf World Tour is great if you dig those kind of golf games, which I know you do. Also has fun multiplayer.
As far as eshop downloads go, highly recommend Mighty Switch Force, as well as the Shantae games. MSF is a 2D puzzle/platformer game with challenging replayability, and Shantea is a 2D metroid-vania type game with amazing art and hilarious fan service.

Re: Must-Play DS/3DS Games
Link Between Worlds is super solid if not a bit easy.
Bravely Default is a fantastic jRPG
New Leaf is a fun time waster.
Luigi's Mansion is a great follow up to the original. Very fun.
