Best Of
Twenty Years
It was 20 years ago today that @Mortin cobbled together a server in his closet with @celcho and apushardware.com went live with its first article. A year later that became Icrontic.com (and then 3 years after that Short-Media.com and then Icrontic.com again even tho there was also another Icrontic... it gets complicated).
Of the thousands of communities built before and since that time, most are long gone. Thanks to all the old-timers for sticking around for so bloody long; your reward is being old.
And thanks to all the newer folks for finding common cause with us and keeping things fresh.
A "community" isn't a thing that forms once and exists forever. Change is inevitable and constant. Folks who arrived last week are just as important as folks who have been around all 20 years, because you have one critical thing in common: you kept coming back.
Cheers, all.

Re: Code of Conduct for Icrontic Events
Example of a viotation: I slap @CB's ass. He doesn't like that (at least not from me) and that's cool!
You never know if you don't ask, though. Consent is sexy.

Re: Any watch nerds on Icrontic?
I have a pretty small collection. Picked up a C65 Trident Vintage from Christopher Ward back in 2018 and it has been my daily since.
I used to swap straps out fairly often, but these days I mostly wear a custom Cordovan strap I picked up from Form Function Form: https://formfunctionform.com/product/button-stud-watchband-cordovan-custom/

Re: Any watch nerds on Icrontic?
@primesuspect Login to WatchUSeek and follow the links in this thread There's a registration form that asks for your screen name, the number of watches you want, etc. Fill it out and you'll get put on the wait list.
Step 2 is to fill out this form to select if you want brushed or polished stainless and if you want to order just the watch or also a matching bracelet.
Sounds like they're going to start closing down registration Saturday, Aug 8th and anyone who hasn't done Step 2 will get cut and at that point they'll move up folks on the wait list so having everything answered and ready to go will help a lot to get in at this point.

Obviously it's a bit later than the 3 months that was expected, but this project is a go! It's not too late to get on the wait list for one of these bad boys if you never signed up. Chances are pretty good you can get one as the total number hasn't been finalized.
Here's the sample. Dial colors are off on the sample but will be corrected on the finished version.

Re: _K's krazy krash kourse of KATastrophe
Sniper Elite v2 (5.4 hours): That game that lets you shoot Nazis and Russians in the dick right after you shoot 3 bottles of wine. Textures are for sure dated at this point but the sneak level needed for the game play holds up. Some levels are barrels that make you fight while others provide a surprising level of freedom to slip around. Bullet drop still feels inconsistent at times, experience from Ghost Warrior, where 80 meters is dead on but 110 is almost on the first full mill line. For a .30 rifle and ranged for combat I would be expecting POA/POI be at 150+, min 200 realistically given what the m1s/k31s were doing at 300 meters.
Games Completed: 148
Time: 7 weeks 78.07 hours
Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 (5.8 hours): I dropped this game for years because of a bug in the first full mission where enemies became invisible and it pissed me off enough that I rage quit a game I had just paid for. Ghost Warrior is a more modern Sniper Elite but turned the insane parts of the game up a bit. You get a lot more guided scenarios for clearing enemies instead of point X. The game was fine but between Sniper Elite and Ghost Warrior I think that is it for me unless people want to go around with the Zombie Army versions, don't think we ever finished number dos.
FYI I am throwing in games I finished awhile ago but never included if you didn't pick that up.
Games Completed: 149
Time: 7 weeks 83.87 hours
