Re: Help Ily build a computer for $1000~
As mentioned above I own a 600w Corsair PSU so the price there can be disregarded.
After talking with some people I reformatted the build a little, deciding to stick with a full sized case/motherboard at the recommendation of some other Icrontians. Feel free to look it over.

EDIT: With the money I save on a PSU I managed to throw in a 1TB drive alongside a 250GB SSD

Rocket League(19 hours): I now get why people play this game. Loaded the game during a free weekend, the most previous one, and played almost 10 hours in 2 days. If you have been living under a rock with no internet for the past few months Rocket League is a game where you play as a rocket powered car. But the car is also playing a hockey, soccer, or basketball game. The result is everyone trying to do cool soccer moves online in a car but utterly failing 30 percent of the time, which is great to watch in its own right. After playing for hours and hours though you start to notice some issues which nag every time they crop back up. The frame for all the cars and ball is off in a couple places, in a physics game like this it means the ball will do really strange things from time to time when multiple vehicles slam it at once.
The game is extremely simple, looks nice enough, and plays really smoothly. But the thing that makes the game so awesome is that you feel like you did something. Totally nail that bicycle kick for a goal after a bump in from the sideline. Then get to watch it again via replay, dang. Great plays that get pulled have a feel to them instead of the joy of winning. The cooperative reward in team play is notches above most games. Matches are short so a high stress level in matches is sustainable due to do those mini-breaks as you find the next match. This is a game you need to play.

Games Completed: 121
Time: 5 weeks 96.11 hours

Re: Battlefield 1
I have been DYING to talk about this for well over a year. Holy crap, so excited (also, stoked I'm not working on this one, so I can kinda enjoy the ride
)
A few things I know about it:
-Singleplayer should be better than the SP efforts in BF3 and BF4. We've heard the criticisms (and, ofc, the lack thereof in Battlefront). The team wants to make the SP more Battlefield-y, meaning more vehicles and freedom, less linearity like the last two games.
-The "Rock paper scissors" element of Planes Vs. Armor Vs. Infantry should feel a lot more like the original BF 1942 style. In BF3 and 4, aircraft felt seperated from the ground war, since they were so fast and flew so high. In this game, aircraft are slower, and literally made out of paper. Infantry can actually have an effect on them to a certain extent. Bombers are back as well, and look super awesome.
-Mud. Glorious, glorious mud.
-As you can see from that trailer, they're going for a very dark and brutal feel with this game to represent the most horrific war of the modern century. Lots of violence and up close and personal kills. There's a new melee system in place to give players better combat options in the many close quarters situations they'll find themselves in. For every naysayer that complained about "what's fun about firing a musket in a trench?", you're gonna see just how wrong you are when you pick up one of those spiked bats.
-Again, trench warfare is dull, slow, and awful. There's gonna be some of that in the game, but DICE is also trying to tell the lesser known side of the War from the Eastern front, where fighting happened in the mountains, on the desert planes, etc. The set pieces are gonna be crazy varied.
-Some vehicles have multiple mounts. Side gunners in tanks, tail gunners in planes, etc. Take you squad in the air with you, etc. Should be tons of fun.
That's about all I know at this time. I haven't gotten my hands on this yet, but I did get to see some of it in action. Think Star Wars Battlefront's amazing graphics, and bump them up a notch. The visuals will blow your mind.

Battlefield 1
Looks awesome, and I have to admit a confirmed single-player campaign has me WAY more excited for this.

I understand that but it seems the order of the players is important.
I don't believe so. Big tanks always in the middle. Smaller characters on the outside. Positioning is for photo composition, nothing to do with play.
