The Walking Dead Season 1+DLC(11.9 hours): Wow the jump in quality from episode 1 to episode 2 was rather drastic. Once this major shift the quality was rather stagnant until the last two episodes where more and more animations jumps were introduced from conversation choices. The art style and environments were fitted perfectly to how Telltale stylizes everything. There was the same pacing issues that I saw in Telltale Borderlands, though the culprit seemed more like 25% of your wait time was due to reaction shots to almost expressionless faces. 2+ hours per episode really feels to long for how how slow the action is and minimal QTEs. This idea that your choices affect the game is slowly grinding on me since half of the conversations branches don't seem to have a real change on outcomes. You should be able to tell everyone to f--- off at any part of the story and kill branches since some many characters in this season were just annoying. Now I understand why it is the walking dead...no one bothers to run cause they are lazy and love having 20 minute fights while being attacked. UGH I JUST WANT TO Y'ALL TO GET EATEN! DLC was 80 minutes of game play so main is 10.5 hours roughly. Duck, no one likes you.

Detroit Mead Tour
So last night, @Teramona expressed interest in hitting B Nektar Meadery up sometime while she's in town. In addition to B Nektar, two other meaderies exist within 2 miles from B Nektar - Schramm's Mead, also in Ferndale in the downtown, and Cellarman's, just across the Ferndale border in Hazel Park.
Schramm's was started by the man who wrote the most definitive book on meadmaking in the last 20 years, Ken Schramm. Ken collaborated with B Nektar and produced some of his own meads on their system in the first couple year's of B Nektar's opening, and they now have their own production facility and tasting room where they focus on high-quality still meads, primarily made with small-batch fruits or spices.
Cellarman's was started by some former employees of B Nektar, and they're putting out lighter, more sessionable meads, ciders, and beer, similar to what B Nektar does but with their own spin.
My van can fit myself + 4 people right now (I've got some equipment I don't really feel like pulling out that's causing one of the seats to have to stay flat), and I've had a lot of stuff from all of the places and don't need to do much drinking, so I'd be willing to chauffeur/shepherd some folks through a tour of these 3 joints.
I'm thinking we pop in and spend maybe an hour at least place. I don't want people getting messy or bringing shame to the Icrontic (and my rep) with these joints, so we'll try and keep everyone to one regular pour per location or the equivalent in samplers.
I'm thinking we'll start with Cellarman's, the new kid on the block, then check out the stuff at Schramm's, and finish up with the place where commercial meadmaking in Michigan pretty kicked off.
If we leave Icrontic around 1:45pm, we should be able to wrap up by 5:45-6pm.
Who's interested? If more than 4 people want in, we will make arrangements for a second DD car.
Well, since Saturday isn't looking good for at least 2 people, maybe we'll plan this for another event. ICSP? We'll figure it out.

Happy 2016, Icrontic!
Here's to a year full of success, happiness, and peace to all of you from all of us here at ICHQ Detroit
