Basically each Intel core is significantly faster, allowing you to do more. There are some other reasons involving the architecture of the CPUs but simply put each Intel Core allows you to do more than each AMD core. Also you can look at heat output. The intel 22nm allows you to do more while producing a cooler chip, more important for micro builds than others.

They went together because I think the upgrade to the i5 is more important than the extra 8 gigs. As in save money there and put it there. Also way easier to add ram later than to switch the cpu.

I don't know what all you do with your computer, that would be very RAM intensive Unless you are a Chrome Tab Hoarder. Otherwise I may go with 8 gigs and go for an i5 if possible. Secondly last I saw that seagate's consumer HDDs have a pretty high failure rate. I would go for the WD Blue 1 TB which is actually cheaper at 52 on Amazon.

The GA-990FXA-UD3 is the board I'm on. Are you building in a full ATX case? My impression of the Dell system was it was micro ATX, just four expansion slots in the back is an easy way to tell.
That said, for a budget combo $200 total for that board and CPU is a great deal.

I took a look at RAIDMAX cases a couple times. Perry's rig is in a Raidmax case. They're not bad.

I keep hearing chatter about how hilariously fun this game is, so I bought it (it's on sale today). I'm hoping a few other Icrontians buy it so we can give it a shot some evening.
Basically somebody gets a timebomb and the others have bits of the manual and you have to talk it out and help the person defuse the bomb (or troll them and make them kill themselves).
Any game that reviewers say "It will test the limits of your communications skills (and friendships)" sounds like a game for IC.
