Maybe there is a missing X here or there but I think it is awesome. 40 Icrontians from around the world have gathered on a weekly basis to play an 8 year old game and bullshit with Icrontic for a couple hours.

I think I got it. Another couple of days, a little less sinus cold, and couple more coffees later ...
Simplify! So wanting the expected values for this distribution I visualized it in small scale with easy numbers I could do in my head. So much easier to visualize it as bins or a 2d graph.
B = full set of 12 integers 0, .., 11 used to generate tuples
R = sub set of 10 integers 0, .., 9 used to reject unwanted tuples
N = 3 the number of integers in each random tuple/vector/list
In a totally flat and perfectly random distribution of B in 3-grams there are B^3 or 1728 tuples. The expected values for each integer in B is B^(N-1) or 144.
If I further restrict the results by rejecting all tuples that contain only integers in R. The expected values for each integer in R is B^(N-1)-R^(N-1) or 144-100=44.
Now all that's left is to scale the expected values from a sample size of B^N to the actual sample size.
That's what I meant about subtracting out two distributions.

Re: Plans for a New pc.
You have enough to do the job right there, although you might consider beefing up the RAM because of your video editing. Not a requirement, but if it fits in the budget it'd be a good idea. Also get an SSD for your OS drive.
GPU horsepower should be enough unless you plan to use whatever NVIDIA's version of Eyefinity is called.

I'm quite happy with the coffee porter results. The coffee flavor (Chazzano Sumatra Mandheling) is pretty evident and there's a chocolate flavor that's found its way in.
Tried the dark cider this weekend. It's very lightly carbonated, mellowing nicely, and should be deceptively smooth by Expo.
I've been a bit motivationally challenged lately when it comes to brewing. There are about three brewing weeks left, so I'll try and get everything finished up soon.
There was a sampling of the mead at ICSP and it was about a 50/50 split on preference for the plain and cherry chipotle versions, so I may just do this again.
